1. If you are coming from abroad, make sure your travels coincide with some performances you want to see. Check the Shoreline Amphitheatre Web site for a list of events.

2. If you want to get good seats, buy tickets as soon as you can. Otherwise you might find yourself standing in the grass.

3. Drive there. You can get driving directions from the Web site. Or check with your hotel to see if they can shuttle you there.

4. VIP parking costs $20 and gets you close to the venue. Anyone else pays $4, which is added into the ticket price.
   
   

5. If you want to bring your kids and hang out in the Family Zone, you might need to arrive a little early to get a good spot.

• There is no smoking or alcoholic beverages on the Family Zone (the lawn seating).
• Bring a blanket and some snacks with you and enjoy a picnic while you watch the concert from the lawn.
• Bring your disposable cameras, small beach chairs, seat cushions and gallon size plastic bags for your snacks.
• There are concession stands as well offering full menus of Mexican food, sausages, barbecue and vegetarian fare.
• Laser pointers, video cameras, professional cameras, coolers and weapons are prohibited.
• Each person is allowed to bring one bag of snacks.
