Things You’ll Need:
Step1
Open a new document. Run Microsoft Word 2003 and click "File" and then "New."
Step2
Make sure your options are set. By default, "Autocorrect" will help you make lists. To check, click "Tools," and then "Autocorrect Options." Click the “Autoformat as You Type” tab. Under the “Apply as You Type” heading, make sure you have checked “Automatic Bulleted Lists” and “Automatic Numbered Lists."
Step3

Create a bulleted list. Type “*” at the beginning of a line and then the spacebar or tab key. Type the first item in the list and then hit "Enter" to go to the next. End the list as in Step 3.
Step5
Make an existing list bulleted or numbered. Select the list with the mouse and click the numbering or bulleting button on the formatting toolbar.
Step6
Create another level in a list. While typing a list, hit the tab key to move to increase the level. To decrease the level, hold down the shift key and strike the tab key.
Step7
Increase or decrease the level in an existing list. Select the item you want to move. On the formatting toolbar, click the increase indent or decrease indent button.
