How to Download Games for Your Xbox 360

There are a wealth of games you can get for your Xbox 360 that cost little or nothing. Arcade games, demos and even full-version games can be yours! All you need is a Live subscription (Silver will do) and maybe some Microsoft Points if you feel the need for more than a demo.

Instructions

    • 1

Subscribe to Xbox Live if you haven't already. Then connect to Live and go to the Live Marketplace.

    • 2

Search for games. In the Live Marketplace, you can download full-game demos and arcade games, along with a wealth of other stuff. Game demos are trial versions of regular retail games like Dead Rising and Call of Duty. Arcade games are smaller games like Bejeweled, Zuma and Hexis.

    • 3

Select the games you're interested in. Most arcade games have a free demo download and a paid full game. Nab the demo first so you can make sure you want the game.

    • 4

Get some Microsoft Points to buy the arcade games if you decide you like them. Microsoft Points are basically an online version of cash. You use them to buy game demos and themes, rent movies and do a whole host of things through your Xbox 360 and Live.

    • 5

Go to your local game store and pick up a prepaid Microsoft Points card. Then use the Redeem Card option to purchase things.

    • 6

Buy Microsoft Points online through Live. You will need a credit card to do this. Kids, make sure you ask your parents before you do this! Failure to ask for permission could be hazardous to your gaming privileges.

    • 7

Be aware that you will need to go to a game store or other retailer to purchase the full version of retail games. But in the meantime, you've now got more games for your 360 that are available anytime! Once something has been downloaded to your hard drive, it is yours!
