Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Things You’ll Need:
- Internet access
- Recipe books
Step1
Scan your recipe books. New Year's brunch foods include eggs, breakfast meats, quiche, waffles, pancakes, muffins, cinnamon buns and other treats.
Step2
Go online if you don’t have good recipe books. Search for “brunch foods” and “brunch recipes.” The Resources section below lists a few recipe Web sites to get you started.
Step3
Search for drink ideas, too. Include nonalcoholic drinks as well as the traditional New Year’s Day champagne. Smoothies made with fresh fruit and yogurt are delightful and are so easy to make you can take orders from your guests and make custom smoothies right on the spot.
Step4
Prepare dishes one or even two days in advance. A casserole or quiche of sausage, eggs and cheese can be made the day before and reheated on the morning of your brunch. Pancake batter and bread dough can also be prepared in advance.
