How to Create a Skype User Name

Skype is an Internet calling program that lets you talk to your family and friends via computer. The software is free to download and is easy to use. Here's how to download the program and create a Skype user name:

Things You’ll Need:

• Computer with Internet access
• Skype account

1. Go the Skype Web site (see the link in Resources below) and install the software.
2. Read and agree to the terms and conditions.
3. Type your name and a user name in the fields.
4. If your name is already taken, you will be given a list of available names and an option to choose a new one. Take a generated name or type a new one and continue until your choice is accepted.
