You can personalize your Skype profile by adding a picture of yourself. Or you can choose an existing Skype picture. Here's how:

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • Skype program
  • Computer with Internet access
  • Skype account

Step1
Open Skype and log in with your user name and password.
Step2
Click “File” in the menu and select “Edit My Profile” to open your personal Skype profile. At the bottom left of your profile screen, you will see the Skype default picture.
Step3
Click “Change” to open a new window called “My Pictures.”
Step4
Click one of Skype’s preloaded pictures or click "Browse" to choose your own. Locate the picture on your computer and then click “OK.”
Step5
Click “OK” again to save your picture.
Step6
To change or add a picture to your public chat, click “Options” and then “Set Picture.” Select the image from your computer or from Skype’s picture database and click “OK.”

Tips & Warnings

  • If your picture is fuzzy, it's probably due to resizing or poor photo quality. Skype automatically resizes pictures into a square, 96 by 96 pixels. Resize or crop your picture to the same configuration.
  • Make sure you are using an appropriate file format. You can only upload JPEG (.jpg), PNG (.png) or bitmap (.bmp) file formats to Skype.
