Switch off the power to the Nintendo DS Lite. You will have to press and hold the power button down for a few moments to turn the unit off.

    • 2

Find SLOT-2. This port is located on the front edge of the DS Lite and is used for Game Boy Advance game packs.

    • 3

Remove the slot cover. Keep the cover in a safe location until you are ready to remove the game pack from the Nintendo DS Lite.

    • 4

Hold the Game Boy Advance game pack so that the labeled side is facing down. Slide the game pack into SLOT-2. When you feel resistance it is fully inserted into the DS Lite. The top part of the game pack will stick out from the unit.

Turn on the Nintendo DS Lite and open the screen. Tap the "Game Boy Advance" panel on the touch screen.

    • 6

Play your Game Boy Advance game. You will only be able to play in single player mode.

    • 7

Remove the Game Boy Advance from the DS Lite when you are finished and put the slot cover back on to protect the interior of the machine.

Tips & Warnings

  • If you are running in the automatic start-up mode, you will need to remove all DS game cards from the system in order to play the Game Boy Advance games. When the DS Lite is in this mode, it will start the DS game card without going to the main menu. You will have no chance to turn on the Game Boy Advance game.

  • You can set the system to manual start-up mode, which will allow you to get to the main menu before the Nintendo DS Lite starts any games.

  • The Nintendo DS Lite will not play Game Boy Color or original Game Boy games. Only Game Boy Advance games and videos are supported by the system.

  • Do not force Game Boy Advance packs into the system. Gentle pressure is enough to seat a properly oriented game pack. If you are having problems putting a Game Boy Advance pack in SLOT-2, check for proper alignment and try again.

To turn on a DS Lite, you need to press your finger against the power button and lift or push up towards the hinge with the spring-loaded button. Just pushing on it won't do anything.
