Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Step1
Turn on your PocketPC or Smartphone. Click on the “Start” button on the default screen of the PocketPC or smartphone. This is similar to hitting the Start button in Windows XP, doing so gives you a list of options and programs.
Step2
Select the “Settings” option and then pick “Connections”. Scroll down the list of options until you find “GPRS”. This stands for General Packet Radio Services, which is how PocketPCs access the Internet. Select “GPRS”.
Step3
Click on the “Menu” button and then select “Add”. This brings up a field for you to name the connection being established. If you have no better ideas, call the connection “Internet Hook-Up”.
Step4
Find the “Connects To” field and select it to get a pull down menu of connection choices. Scroll to “The Internet” and then punch the “Done” button.
Step5
Enter your user name and password when these are required by your Internet service provider. You may also need to enter the primary and secondary DNS. The domain name system coordinates your name for a Web site into the string of numbers that your PocketPC uses to get around while online.
Step6
Enter the IP address supplied by your Internet service provider. Punch the “Done” button to finish the set up process. Dial-up the Internet to check your settings.
