How to Beam a Business Card on an HP iPAQ Using Bluetooth

Using your HP iPAQ and Bluetooth technology, you can instantly beam a business card to another HP iPAQ or PDA. Just follow these steps.

Things You’ll Need:

  • HP iPAQ
  • Bluetooth
Step1
Create your business card. Use the "Contacts" application and enter your information into a new contact.
Step2
From the "Today" screen, tap the "Bluetooth" icon. Select "Bluetooth Settings." Find the “Information Exchange” tab and tap it.
Step3
Tap the "Business Card" icon. It appears next to the words “My Business Card (vCard).”
Step4
Select your contact from your list. This should be the same contact you made in Step 1.
Step5
From the "Today" screen, tap "Start" and then “Bluetooth Manager.”
Step6
Tap the icon for business cards. This looks like a business card and is on the bottom toolbar near the other drop-down menus.
Step7
Tap the “Send” button.
Step8
Choose the device that will receive your beam. The Bluetooth browser should show a list of available devices. Tap the “OK” button.

Tips & Warnings

  • You can request and exchange business cards using the same method. Simply choose “Receive” or “Exchange” in Step 7.
  • Be sure to include all pertinent information on your vCard, such as name, title, phone number, e-mail address and company name.
  • Both PDAs must have Bluetooth enabled to send and receive business cards.
