How to Beam a Business Card on a Dell Axim

Save on paper and beam your business card to other PDAs with the touch of a button using Dell Axim and Bluetooth. All you need is a vCard with your contact information. Follow these quick steps to beam a business card on a Dell Axim.

  • Dell Axim
  1. Step 1

    Open Microsoft Outlook Express.

  2. Step 2

    Create a new vCard. Select “Tools” then “Address Book.” Click on “New” and then “New Contact.” Enter your information. Include everything you want on your business card and click "OK."

  3. Step 3

    Attach your vCard to outgoing e-mail. Select “Tools” and then “Options.” Click the “Compose” tab. Check the box next to “Mail:” under “Business Card.” Select your name from the drop-down menu on the right.

  4. Step 4

    Insert the business card into an e-mail. While composing an e-mail, click "Insert" and select "Business Card." E-mail it to yourself.

  5. Step 5

    Now let’s turn to your Dell Axim. Connect to the Internet. Press the "Wireless" button and wait for the connection to enable. Check your e-mail and save the vCard you sent yourself.

  6. Step 6

    Tap the "Bluetooth" icon and select the Bluetooth manager.

  7. Step 7

    Select “Tools” and then “Business Card Exchange.”

  8. Step 8

    Fnd the “Select the Business Card” link and choose the vCard you just sent to yourself.

  9. Step 9

    Choose your preferences. Here you can choose to exchange cards, send cards or receive cards only.

  10. Step 10

    Select a recipient. After you select “Send Options,” you’ll be taken to the Bluetooth browser. Select the device you want to send your card to. Tap “OK.”

Tips & Warnings
  • The button on the right controls both your Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity.
  • If your recipient doesn’t show up on Bluetooth, try e-mailing your vCard to him or her.
  • To reduce security risks, make your PDA undiscoverable and turn Bluetooth off when not in use.
