How to Align the Screen on an HP iPAQ

The HP iPAQ is a pocket PC with many applications you can target for business, entertainment and general organizational needs. The functionalities (some of which are optional or require additional software) include phone, email, GPS navigation, camera and even integrated Wi-Fi and Bluetooth technologies. When you use the device for the first time, there are several steps you must perform to align the screen on an HP iPAQ.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • HP iPAQ
  • Stylus
  1. Step 1

    Turn on your HP iPAQ Pocket PC.

  2. Step 2

    Use your stylus to tap on the "Start" menu.

  3. Step 3

    Tap on the "System" tab.

  4. Step 4

    Tap the "Screen" icon.

  5. Step 5

    Tap the "Align Screen" button.

  6. Step 6

    Tap the center of the cross-hair object carefully at each location as it moves around the screen.

  7. Step 7

    Tap "OK" to complete the screen alignment.

Tips & Warnings
  • When initially turning on your device, you needn't follow the prompts listed above. Your HP iPAQ will automatically guide you through the screen alignment.
  • Be precise while tapping the cross-hair object during step 6. If want to align the screen more precisely, simply repeat steps 2 to 7.
  • To align the screen without tapping on it, simply press and release all four of the "Application" buttons on front of your pocket PC at the same time. You also can press the "Calendar" button after pushing down and holding the "5-Way Navigation" button.
  • For further assistance or to read more about your HP iPAQ, refer to the user guide included with your pocket PC. An electronic version of the guide also is available at the HP Web site.
  • You occasionally may need to realign the pocket PC screen if your HP iPAQ is not responding accurately to taps on the display or if must perform a full reset.
