Tips & Warnings
If you haven't registered yet, visit the Skype website and click "Download Now."
Disabling notifications doesn't mean you'll have no way of knowing when contacts are online. To check if they are, open your contact list and look at the icons next to their name. A green check means the contact is available.
If you want to stop communicating with someone altogether, right-click their name on your contact list. Select "Block This User" in the dropdown list. Check the box next to "Also Remove This Person From Contacts" and click "Block."
The "Help/Tips" box under "Messages" in the notifications menu is for messages from Skype and does not affect notifications from your contact list.
You must add a contact to your list before you can receive online notifications from the person.
