With Craigslist's network of community-based classified advertisements, at the click of a mouse people can find just about any item or service in their area. That makes it a great place to post your classified advertisement. Do you want to check what your competitors are up to, or see whether your prices are in line with what others are offering? To find your competitor’s classified advertisements on Craigslist, follow these steps.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • Internet access
  • Computer

Step1
Go online and visit the Craigslist homepage. Click on your state on the right-hand side of the page, then select your city.
Step2
Type in your competitor’s company name into the “Search Craigslist” box, if you know of any specific competitors.
Step3
Type in the heading for your own advertisement into the search box. Specify the category of your search (such as "For Sale," "Services" or "Events") in the drop-down menu just below the search box.
Step4
View the different categories on the page and click your area of competition. See who else is listed.
Step5
Check out the event calendar on the left-hand side of the page if you want to see who's competing with any event you may be holding on a specific day.
Step6
Click on the links to any competing advertisements you find, and see how your ads stack up against the competition's.
