One of the best gifts to give children on their birthday or Christmas is a digital camera. Some parents might have a hard time deciding on what features best suit their children when it comes to using a digital camera. Here is how to find the best digital camera for your kids.

From Quick Guide: Easy to Use Digital Cameras
Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Find the latest version of any camera. Most kids want the newest and “coolest” version of anything they can find. Look for a camera that has been heavily advertised or one that your child has already expressed an interest in.

  2. Step 2

Find an aesthetically pleasing camera. Most kids go for the most attractive looking camera, so find one that comes in flashy colors.

  3. Step 3

Find a good size. Most kids prefer compact and smaller items that they can fit in their pocket and is not going to be a hassle to them.

  4. Step 4

Check for fun features. Most kids use their cameras to take pictures of them and their friends so try to find one with fun features like colorful backgrounds or fun sounds.

  5. Step 5

Find one that’s very easy to use. The easier it is to use the happier your child will be.

  6. Step 6

Consider price. You can start with a cheaper model, then upgrade as the child asks for more features for their camera.

  7. Step 7

Check online reviews and consumer magazines to find the most durable camera. It will endure a lot of wear and tear, so be sure you are buying a camera that will last.

Tips & Warnings
  • Purchasing the most up to date camera for your child will give them a sense of pride and allow them to show it off in front of their friends.
  • Mega pixels won’t matter too much to your child, but can still be considered for quality purposes.
  • Don’t get one that has boring colors (like gray or black) or one that looks very serious. It is likely to be rejected by your child.
  • Don’t purchase a camera that you would like, because your child is most likely going to hate it.

on 11/15/2008 Does the person that wrote this article actually have children? "Purchasing the most up to date camera will give them a sense of pride?" Do me a favor!! How about they earn their own money by doing chores, then buy their OWN camera...that will give them a true sense of pride.
