Tips & Warnings

  • Change the language you want to translate into by clicking the "Settings" button (in Internet Explorer) or the "Options" button (in Firefox). Click the "Translator Settings" button, select a language from the drop-down menu, then click "OK".

  • Note that you can only translate from English into Chinese, Japanese, Korean, French, Italian, German, Russian or Spanish. You cannot translate any of these languages into English.

  • The Google Toolbar translator works only in your browser window. You cannot use it to translate, for example, in Microsoft Word.

  • To temporarily disable translation, click on the WordTranslator button once. When it is not indented, the translator function is turned off.

  • Remove WordTranslator from your toolbar by carrying out the same actions as in Step 1 of this article, but uncheck the "Translate Menu" or "Word Translator" box instead of checking it.
