How to Find Online Menus for Local Restaurants

With the advent of the Internet, pretty much everything is accessible at the click of a button. You can view local movie times, community message boards and even menus of your local restaurants. Browsing the menu of your local restaurants, you can decide whether the entrées appeal to you, if you're in the mood for that cuisine, whether it's within your budget and if you'd like to take your special someone for dinner there or not. All of these questions can be answered without physically setting your foot in the restaurant, calling them up or looking up food review guides.

Instructions

1. Go online and type ‘online menus’ in the search box of your favorite search engine, such as Google or Yahoo.

2. Look up several Web sites that come up and search for local restaurants (see below).

3. Add your city’s name along with the keyword ‘online menu’ or ‘restaurants’ in the search box if your city is not listed in any of the popular online menu Web sites. Chances are you’ll find a few local restaurant Web sites with online menus.

4. Search the Web site of your local restaurant to find an online menu. You may need to download the file in order to view the menu.

Tips & Warnings

• Confirm with the restaurant whether the item mentioned on the online menu is available or not. Often the online menu is a sample or seasonal menu, or it may be out of date. Double check by calling up the restaurant so that you are not misinformed.
• Look up the yellow pages if you can’t find enough listings for your city. Not all good and popular restaurants have Web sites or online menus. Call up the restaurants and ask about the specials and ongoing food festivals.
