How to make 'Overnight Salad'

Quick to put together, the overnight salad is perfect for anything from the day to day meals to a holiday, or family, get together.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 1 large bowl
  • 1 large head of lettuce - torn into bite size pieces
  • 1 sweet red onion - chopped
  • 1 green pepper - chopped
  • 1/2 c. celery - chopped
  • 1 box uncooked frozen tiny or early peas
  • 2 c. Miracle Whip
  • 1 tbl sugar
  • 4 oz. grated cheddar cheese
  • 8 slices bacon - cooked crisp and crumbled
  1. Step 1

    Starting with a large bowl, you will begin to layer the ingredients in order listed above. Layer! Do not mix together!

  2. Step 2

    Cover tightly with plastic wrap.

  3. Step 3

    Leave in refrigerator overnight without removing plastic wrap.

  4. Step 4

    Stir together just before serving

Tips & Warnings
  • Do not mix together until ready to serve
  • Will keep for 3 days after stirred if kept refrigerated
  • Make sure Miracle Whip is spread evenly over the layers below
  • Sugar should be sprinkled over layer below
  • you can use pre-made bacon substitute - or non meat alternative, instead of real bacon.
  • Be aware of your guest's possible food allergies.
