Looking for a quick, easy, fun treat for Halloween? Want to be a little more festive with your 'trick-or-treat' give away? How about something that can double as an activity for a kids Halloween party? This may just be the thing.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 1 bag of assorted oval shaped suckers - any brand - 1 per 'ghost'
  • a box of white facial tissues - any brand - 1 to 2 per 'ghost'
  • strips of colored yarn or ribbon
  • scissors - for cutting yarn or ribbon
  • markers or pens - I usually use black but other colors may make it more festive
  1. Step 1

Lay out 2 pieces of tissue

  2. Step 2

Place 1 sucker with the 'head' in the center of the tissues with the stem facing toward one edge or corner.

  3. Step 3

Hold the stem up with one hand, leaving the head in the center of the tissue, and gather the tissue around the base of the head of the sucker. The tissue should be stretches around the candy portion, tight around the neck, and loose about the stem. This should create the "head" and "neck" of the ghost.

  4. Step 4

Cut a strip of colored yarn or ribbon and tie in a bow around the "neck".

  5. Step 5

Using a marker, you can now decorate the ghost's head, giving it eyes. This is where the kids can get creative.

Tips & Warnings
  • These are great for trick-or-treat candy offerings center piece additions, or part of a gift bag for a party.
  • offset the 2 pieces of tissue for a more layered look
  • Remember, even adults love suckers!
  • Offer a no-sugar alternative - perhaps with different colored eyes?
  • Get creative with the decoration.
  • If younger children, precut the ribbon / yarn, non-toxic markers, and make sure they are under adult supervision at all times.
