How to Make Quick Short Bread

  • 1 cup butter (not margarine)
  • 1/4 cups brown sugar
  • 2-1/4 cups flour
  • 1/4 tsp rum flavoring (optional)
  • Oven
  • Cookie Sheet
  • Bowl
  • Spoon
  • Wax Paper

Instructions

    • 1

      Preheat oven to 325 degrees.

      Cream all ingredients with finger and pat out on the cookie sheet.

      Bake at 325 degrees or lower.

    • 4

      Watch closely, for butter scorches easily.

    • 5

      Once the mixture turns golden brown, dump out on the wax paper and let cool.

      Cut into squares.
