My husband played in a band when he was younger and he’s kept his love for music. That was our theme for his last birthday. The tips below are ideal for your family gatherings held at home.
Step2
Select a theme for the occasion. For the Music Party, I purchased a banner of musical notes in black and silver, silver plates with matching silverware and napkins. The tablecloth and centerpieces continued the musical theme. It’s really easy to select a theme when you keep the guest of honor in mind.
Step3
Keep costs under control. Before you purchase any new items take an inventory of what you currently have available. For example if you have plates, napkins, and silverware only buy a tablecloth and cups.
Step4
Use inexpensive items to enhance your decorations such as balloons on the floor underneath the table where the cake and gifts will be displayed. Reuse the ‘Happy Birthday’ banner for all birthday parties. I found a banner that I can customize. It came with an assortment of numbers with adhesive that makes it easy to peel and replace. My daughter was so excited to see her 13th birthday on a huge banner.
Step5
This is your home so minimize damage to the walls by using push pins whenever possible.
Step6
Continue the color scheme with the gift wrap and cards.
