By following a few simple guidelines - and having loads of fun creating a county fair project - you may just snag a blue ribbon for your wall.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • Feed Buckets
  • Poster Paints
  • Acrylic Paints
  • Animal Water Buckets
  • Glues
  • Scissors
  • Small Animal Clippers
  • Poster Boards

Step1
Decide on the projects you wish to enter in the fair.
Step2
Study the fair book for guidelines about entering an exhibit. You can get a fair book or a copy of the guidelines from your 4-H leader or the fair board.
Step3
Build, prepare and assemble your projects and posters according to the rules.
Step4
Place your name, category, age and club name on the poster or exhibit. Follow the guidelines when placing this information on your exhibit.
Step5
Practice leading and showing your animals before the fair.
Step6
Clean and groom animals before the show.
Step7
Enter your exhibit at the date and time required by the fair.

Tips & Warnings

  • If you place first at the county level, you may qualify to enter your project at the state fair.
