Rate: (1 Ratings)

Street luge moves very fast, and watching it can be tricky, not to mention dangerous.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Things You’ll Need:

Step1
Position yourself near a bend so that you can watch the rider approach, turn and speed away. You also get to see some good crashes.
Step2
Find a high view if you can. Looking down on the course gives you a better perspective on the race. It's also safer from errant crashes.
Step3
Be sure to watch both the start and the finish of different races so that you know what happens at each juncture.
Step4
Change places now and again to catch different perspectives, but don't give up prime real estate at a busy event.
Step5
Wear a hat, sunglasses and sunscreen.

Tips & Warnings

  • At big events, such as the X Games, there are sophisticated readouts of racers' running times and top speeds. Position yourself where you can see these readouts. This will help you learn about what you're seeing.
  • Street luge is extrememly dangerous. Always wear proper protection when riding.
