You can use hatches to simulate an ink drawing in Adobe Illustrator. These instructions apply to Adobe Illustrator 8. Procedures for other versions may vary.

Things You'll Need:

  • Adobe Illustrator
  1. Step 1

    Create an object or place an image file.

  2. Step 2

    Select the object with the selection tool.

  3. Step 3

    From the Filter menu, select Pen and Ink, then Hatch. The selected object changes to resemble a pen and ink drawing.

Tips & Warnings
  • You can select from various Hatch settings, or you can create and save hatches.
