Step 1
Put several chunks of wax a double boiler for each color (it's best not to use more than three colors). (See Related eHows).

Prepare the mold and wick (see Related eHows). You will want to use wick tabs with these candles.

Use a candy thermometer to monitor the temperature of the wax. Turn off the heat when the paraffin reaches 180 degrees F.

Stir coloring into the melted wax. (See Related eHows.)

Add scent by shaving off a few pieces from a scent block or adding 1/8 ounce of undiluted candle scent for every pound of wax.

Set up the wick (see Related eHows).

Pour the darkest color of wax into the mold, filling it only part way.

Allow the wax to cool.

Add the next darkest color to form the second layer.

Repeat the layering until you have filled the mold.

Allow the completely filled mold to cool. It can be put in the refrigerator to speed things up.

Trim the wick to 1/2 inch.
