Spring is a transitional period when you're dying to shed your winter coat but the weather just isn't cooperating yet. Take the frustration out of spring dressing with these five transitional pieces.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Blue Blazers
  • Cargo Shorts
  • Polo Shirts
  1. Step 1

Invest in a fine knit polo shirt to start spring off on the right foot. Pair it with khakis or dark jeans or wear it under a plain navy or gray suit to create a put-together but casual look.

  2. Step 2

Select a dress shirt in anything but French blue or white to wear under a suede jacket or with jeans. The shirt can also be worn to the office with a subtly patterned tie and dark suit.

  3. Step 3

Invest in a blue blazer with three buttons for those occasions when you need to look important (avoid gold buttons). Pair it with brown or light gray khakis and a sweater to create a very classic appearance.

  4. Step 4

Buy a pair of cargo shorts that are long enough to reach your knees. Pair them with a cotton knit T-shirt and sandals for the weekend.

  5. Step 5

Consider a pair of loafers to add a casual yet dressy feel to your wardrobe. Squared-off toes, suede uppers and thick soles are hip and comfortable.

Tips & Warnings
  • Consider bright colors and breathable fabrics when shopping for a complete spring wardrobe.
  • Accessories such as belts, sunglasses and shoes can create varying looks.
