How to Attach a Water Bottle Cage to a Bike

    • Bike Shorts
    • All-purpose Bike Tools
    • Bike Helmets
    • Bike Water Bottle/cage
    • Bikes
    • Allen Wrenches

        Go to your local bike store and buy a water bottle cage and a water bottle.

        Look for two screws located on the seat tube (the frame tube the seat goes into) or the down tube (the part of the frame at a 45-degree angle to the ground) of your bike frame.

        Unscrew the two screws using an Allen wrench.

      • 4

        Hold the water bottle cage against the frame where the two screw holes are located.

      • 5

        Line up the water bottle cage with the holes and then screw the cage on.

      • 6

        Fill up your water bottle and go for a ride.

    Tips & Warnings

    • Some bikes have two sets of screws for water bottle cages located on the frame. Take your pick which you want to use, or use them both for maximum hydration capacity.

      Secure a water bottle holder anywhere with 2 hose clips over where the screws are suppose to go. Tighten the clips one by one at the position desired on the bike.
