How to Make Scary Spiders
Spiders are a snap to make using cardboard egg cartons. This project is easy for young children, although they'll need supervision when cutting or painting. One carton makes 12 spiders.

- Googly Eyes
- Spider Webbing

Spread several layers of newspaper on your work surface.

Cut or tear the top off an empty cardboard egg carton.

Glue on "googly eyes" from a craft store, or make eyes for the spiders out of construction paper.

Hang each spider using a needle and piece of thread. Thread the needle and tie a knot at one end; then pierce it through the egg carton cell from the bottom. Use a light-colored thread to make it less noticeable.

Make several spiders and hang them together for a spooky effect, especially in low light.

You will need one white sheet, a black permanent marker, small foam balls and string. 1. Cut or rip out pieces of cloth from the sheet, make sure they all wrap around the foam ball and have at least 4-6 inches of excess. 2. Cut the string to your desired length that you want the ghost to hang. 3. Put the ball center on the cloth simply wrap and tie where the neck would be, leaving the long end of the string to hang from a tree or window. 4. Draw your little ghosts face. Try big long eyes and a big mouth. 5. Your ghost is ready to hang. Tips: You can use any size balls or cloth for whatever size ghosts and you can reuse them every year! You can substitute the white sheet or the foam balls with old clothes for fabric or filling. Newspaper filling can run and get mushy, but you can use it if you wrap it in sandwich baggies first! -
