on 2/22/2006 I love to add curry powder and/or chili powder and/or garlic powder to the boiling water to create a great taste.

on 2/21/2006 A little spice goes a long ways. Back when I worked in a restaurant acclaimed for awesome home fries, we threw a little bit of everything into it - the most important being paprika. It gave a good flavor along with a great color. I think we also threw in black pepper, garlic, and cumin to the mix, though I'm not completely sure on it. Use your imagination, it's really hard to mess up home fries.

on 2/21/2006 Don't forget to pierce the skin of the potato in several places with a fork. They make a pretty big boom, otherwise.

on 2/21/2006 Cayenne pepper. Lots of Cayenne pepper, and cook them until they're brown enough to be seconds away from burning. A great, great snack to serve up after a long night of clubbing.
