How to Have an Egg Toss

All this game requires are some willing players, enough uncooked eggs for every other person, and the great outdoors. (We recommend that you have plenty of paper towels on hand for the cleanup!)

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • Smocks
  • Candies
  • Eggs (uncooked)
  • Paper Towels
  • Whistles
  • Stickers
  • Toys
Step1
Invite kids to wear old clothes, or provide smocks.
Step2
Divide players into pairs, then split the entire group into two rows, with paired players facing each other.
Step3
Arrange the players in each row so that they're standing 3 or 4 feet apart.
Step4
Choose one row, and hand everyone in that row an egg.
Step5
Blow the whistle, and have the players with the eggs toss them to their partners.
Step6
Ask the receiving players to take a step back after catching the eggs. If a partner breaks the egg (whether in his or her hands or on the ground), the pair is eliminated from the game.
Step7
Blow the whistle again, indicating this time that the receiving players toss the eggs to their partners. Again, those who manage to catch the eggs without cracking them must take a step back before tossing the eggs again.
Step8
Continue the game until all pairs but one are eliminated.
Step9
Award the winning pair a prize.

on 11/22/2005 Have a few extra eggs on hand. More of your guests will want to play than you probably thought would, and some will want to try again. Use those old eggs that have been hanging out in the fridge and might not still be edible. Ask friends for theirs, too.
