Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  1. Step 1

Release leeward dock lines and the spring lines.

  2. Step 2

Station a crew member at each remaining dock line, then untie them both.

  3. Step 3

Loop each dock line once around its cleat and hand the end to the deck crew.

  4. Step 4

Keep enough tension on the lines to avoid moving the boat. If the wind is on the beam, force the boat up to the windward dock and hold it with both dock lines.

  5. Step 5

    Shift both engines to reverse.

  6. Step 6

Instruct your crew to release both remaining dock lines.

  7. Step 7

Add moderate throttle to gain way.

  8. Step 8

Shift to neutral when the bow is clear of the slip.
