How to Make Outrageous Cookie Bars

What makes these cookies so outrageous? Well, they're outrageously good - and outrageously easy to make. This recipe is courtesy of Nestlé Toll House Kitchens. Makes 4 1/2 dozen bars. Does this Spark an idea?

Things You'll Need

  • 1/2 c. (1 stick) softened butter or margarine
  • 1 c. flaked sweetened coconut
  • 1 1/4 c. sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 1/2 c. graham cracker crumbs
  • 2 c. semisweet chocolate chips
  • 1 c. chopped walnuts
  • Groceries
  • 13-by-9-inch Baking Pans
  • Mixing Spoons
  • Wire Racks

Instructions

    • 1

      Melt butter in 13-by-9-inch baking pan in oven; remove.

      Sprinkle graham cracker crumbs over butter.

      Stir well; press onto bottom of pan.

    • 4

      Pour sweetened condensed milk evenly over crumbs.

    • 5

      Sprinkle with chocolate chips, coconut and nuts; press down firmly.

      Bake in preheated oven at 350 degrees F for 25 to 30 minutes, or until light golden-brown.

      Cool completely in pan on wire rack.
