Place the red paper piece directly on top of the white.

Rotate the red piece 90 degrees.

Weave the top red strip by putting it inside the first white strip.

Put the middle white strip inside the red strip.

Put the red strip inside the third white strip.

Weave the middle red strip by putting the first white strip inside of it.

Put the middle red strip inside the middle white strip.

Put the third white strip inside the middle red strip.

Weave the third red strip following steps 12, 13 and 14. Your woven heart is complete!

Cut a strip of paper ½ inch by 8 inches and glue it to the front and back of the heart at the top to make a handle.

Cut a red and a white rectangle from construction paper, each measuring 3 inches by 9 inches.

Fold each paper rectangle in half, forming 3-inch by 4½-inch rectangles.

Measure up 3 inches from the folded edge of each rectangle. Draw a light pencil line parallel to the folded edge.

Draw a semicircle above the pencil line, reaching from one edge of the paper to the other. This semicircle forms the curved top of each half of the heart.

Cut along the curved line with scissors.

Step 6
Place a ruler along the folded edge of each paper.

Make a light pencil mark at 1 inch and at 2 inches.

Cut with scissors, from the 1-inch mark straight up 3 inches to the pencil line you drew earlier.

Do the same from the 2-inch mark. The bottom section of your paper will now be cut into three strips, which are each 1 inch wide.
