on 2/25/2006 I have a wood burning fireplace and cut a lot of wood in all weather conditions and have been using a Stihl 025 for about 10 years. The Stihl has been excellent up until recently. It has been hard to start in cold weather. I've been told that the Dolmar is the best chainsaw because of the quality that goes into it.

on 11/22/2005 After doing a lot of research to find the best quality chain saw, I have come to this conclusion:
There are only 3 brands to consider. Husqvarna, Stihl, and Echo. Husqvarna and Stihl both make great large saws. Husqvarna probably makes the best medium size saws. As rumor has it, the newer medium and small size Stihls have been cheapened somewhat. Echo makes a great small saw.
