When setting up multiplayer in "Delta Force Black Hawk Down," the contents of the Team Sabre expansion pack are included with all of the options. For multiplayer, Team Sabre adds new terrains, characters and weapons to play with online. Prior to joining a multiplayer game, create a character and choose a loadout. When hosting, configure the server’s options such as name, player count, and maps in the Multiplayer menu.
Character Setup and Joining
Double-click the game’s shortcut icon on your desktop. Click the “Player Info” option on the game’s start page.
Click the first “(Empty)” tab at the top and type a nickname for your character. The tab is renamed to your character’s nickname. Click the “OK” button at the bottom, which takes you back to the main screen.
Click the “Multiplayer” option. Click the left or right arrow to cycle through the available character faces to select your appearance. Click the “Character Type” button to cycle through the available classes. The SAS character is the newest character included with Team Sabre. Click “Change Loadout” to see or modify the weapons and equipment for the selected class. To change a weapon or item, click the left or right arrow button. Click the “OK” button at the bottom of the Change Loadout screen when finished to get back to the Multiplayer screen.
Click the left or right arrows beside the Play On box to select either “LAN IP” or “NovaWorld.” The LAN IP option allows you to play on a local network, and the NovaWorld option allows you to play online.
Click the “Join Game” button. If you selected NovaWorld, log in with your username and password and click “OK.” On the following screen, a list of all available Internet servers for you to join appears. Click the server you want to play on and begin playing.
Click the “Multiplayer” option on the game’s start page.
Click the “Host Game” button at the bottom of the Multiplayer screen. Enter a welcome message for guests joining your server in the Put Your Message Here box. Type a name for your server in the Game Name field. If you want to make your server private, type a password in the Password field.
Click “Session Type” to cycle between NovaWorld and LAN IP. Click the “Connection” button to cycle through the available connection types. Select the connection that most closely matches your upload speed.
Click “Server Type” to cycle between “Serve and Play” or Serve. While the Serve and Play option will allow you to play as you are hosting, the Serve option will run a dedicated server.
Select the respawn time, time limit and maximum players by clicking the arrows next to each box to cycle through the available options. Click to select a game type and the first map you want to play in the Game Type section. Both the Team Sabre and Vanilla maps appear in this list for you. Click the “Start Hosting” button. The multiplayer game will load and players can join in with you. To close your server, press the “Esc” button on your keyboard, and then press “Y” to confirm.
