How to Upload Audio With AUP
Audacity stores music projects as AUP files. If you have your own website, you can upload these files directly to your site. However, most people will not be able to listen to music files in this format. You also can't upload to music-sharing sites like YouTube and SoundCloud in the AUP format. To upload your Audacity projects in a format other people can use, export them as MP3s in Audacity.

1
Go to the Buanzo website and download the Lame MP3 encoder for Windows (see Resources). Audacity does not have the native capability to encode MP3s, so you need to get the encoders yourself.
-
2
Double-click the EXE file to install Lame.
-
-
3
Open Windows Explorer, type "lame_enc.dll" (without quotes) in the Search field and press "Enter." Note the directory in which this file is located.
-
4
Open your project in Audacity.
-
5
Click the "File" menu and select "Export as MP3."
-
6
Navigate to the directory of the Lame DLL file and double-click the file.
-
7
Navigate to the location on your hard drive to save the MP3 file and click "Export." Your Audacity music project is ready to upload in a usable format.
