How to Make a Game Lag With Net Tools
Net tools can be used in multi-player games to create lag in your connection, which slows the sending and receiving of data packets between your computer and the game’s server. In some games where player interaction results are dependent upon connection speed, this can lead to you being slightly out of sync with the rest of the players. Lack of sync results in delayed player actions towards you, and shots made in your direction may fail to hit.

1
Start the Net Tools program from your desktop icon or from the “Start” menu. Open the “Start” menu in Net tools, located along the top of the application, and scroll to and select the “Network Tools” option. Select “UDP flooder" from the pop-up menu.
-
2
Change the router port number in the first window of the UDP flooder. The number in the window, "127.0.0.1," should be the loopback port of your router. This port simply allows the Net Tools application to perform all of its tests by directing its activities back to your own router, without interfering with your connection.

3
Change the number in the window to the IP address "27.27.27.27" to interfere with your connection. The new IP address is the CHINANET Hubei province network hub, which should be far enough to give you a long data loop to produce lagging.
-
4
Type the word “Data” in the window beneath the IP address. When you activate the lag, the word will be sent to the new IP address, which sends a report of the information received back to your system.
-
5
Highlight and copy the word "Data." Place the cursor at the end of the word in the field and paste it by pressing and holding the “Ctrl” and “V” keys simultaneously for about 20 seconds. If sent only once the lag won't last long enough to have an in-game effect. The multiple sends of the word ensures that you'll have a long stretch of information running through the loop. Since the flooder promotes the priority of this information, it will switch resources from the game's data to your flooder data, resulting in a gaming lag without actually cutting your game connection.
-
6
Move the “Speed” slider in the flooder as far to the right as it will go, setting it to a speed of 10. By setting the speed at the highest setting possible, you'll ensure that the information is sent in a continuous stream, preventing the lower prioritized game data from slipping through a gap between packets.
-
7
Press the “Start” button on the app to begin lagging your connection.

Tips & Warnings
The CHINANET hub will not receive your data due to firewalls in place, but will send back a destination unreachable message that will keep the loop in operation.
Lagging yourself for more than a few seconds leads to a timeout issue, where the Internet modem or router determines you haven’t the speed to remain connected to the game and drops your connection. This usually occurs after 15 or 30 seconds, depending on your network settings.
