Mobile devices that feature Mac OS, such as the iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch, are designed to sync with your Apple computer. Due to system conflicts, devices running Android OS are not designed to sync with Apple software. To synchronize your HTC EVO with a Mac OS, it is necessary to use third party software. SyncMate is an example of free software you can use to synchronize data between your EVO and Macintosh computer.

      Visit mac.eltima.com to download and install the Android version of SyncMate onto your computer, if you have not done so already.

      Connect your EVO to your Macintosh computer via a compatible USB cable. Plug one end of the cable in your EVO's “USB” port. The other end of the cable connects to your Mac's “USB” port.

      Open the SyncMate application on your Mac.

      Look in the left side panel of the SyncMate window. Click the radio box beside the programs you want to sync. For instance, select iCal, Safari Bookmarks, iPhoto or iTunes and Video.

      Look underneath “Synchronization Direction” section to select the type of sync you want to complete. Select “Mac to Device” to copy data from your Mac onto your EVO. Select “Device to Mac” to copy data from your EVO onto your Mac.

      Click the “Sync Now” button, located on the top toolbar to complete the synchronization process. This process can take a few seconds to a few minutes, depending upon the number of files and folders you are syncing.
