Instructions

1
Buy an add-on ponytail that complements your natural hair color and texture.
-
2
Wash and blow-dry your hair. Curl and brush the hair so the front and sides are easy to merge with the hairpiece for a natural look.
-
-
3
Brush the front of your hair straight back from your forehead, teasing or backcombing to make a pompadour or quiff on top. Brush and pull the sides back smoothly and join your natural hair in a rubber band.
-
4
Attach the add-on ponytail to your head directly underneath your natural hair at the rubber band if your natural hair is very short. Try attaching the add-on ponytail on top of the rubber band.
-
5
Work with your natural hair to help it blend into the add-on ponytail so it will look as natural as possible. Use bobby pins the color of your hair to hold the tail in place.
-
6
Use a fancy barrette, ribbon or a jeweled ponytail holder to camouflage the joined area where your natural hair and the add-on meet.
-
7
Apply a difrisant or gel to your hands and lightly smooth over the ponytail to hold loose ends in place.
-
8
Curl the ends of your new add-on ponytail for an alternate look. Give the front of your head a quick spray with the hairspray for additional hold.

Tips & Warnings
Another easy method to disguise the joined areas of hair is to take a strand of hair from the ponytail and wrap it around the join, pinning it in place underneath.
Do not leave your add-on ponytail in your curling iron for more than a few seconds or the hair burn or melt.
