How to Get a High ID on eMule
EMule is a free peer-to-peer application that allows you to download and upload files. To ensure optimum performance, eMule implemented an ID system that rewards users who can properly connect to its network. EMule users with a high ID typically experience faster downloads and a higher number of search results. You can get a high ID on eMule in a couple of steps.

1
Edit your firewall options to allow eMule connections. Software firewalls, as well as firewalls that are built into routers, can prevent eMule from sending or receiving data. Open your firewall's management interface and add eMule to the list of allowed applications. Make sure to allow both incoming and outgoing eMule connections.

2
Open the ports that are required by eMule in your firewall's options. Most firewalls allow you to edit individual network ports by accessing the management interface and selecting a dedicated tab. Open ports 4662, 4672 and 4711 to allow eMule to communicate with other users.

Contact your Internet service provider and check if it has placed a restriction on peer-to-peer traffic. Some ISPs, for legal or traffic-management reasons, block all peer-to-peer traffic. If that is the case, contact other ISPs in your area to check if they also restrict eMule traffic. You may have to switch to a different ISP to use eMule.
