How to Convert Blu-ray DTS Videos to Blu-ray AC3 Videos
The movie data on a Blu-ray disc is stored in multiple M2TS files. The audio tracks in M2TS files are encoded with specific codecs. DTS is one example of an audio codec that you can use to publish M2TS files. If you want to change the audio codecs of your DTS M2TS files to AC3, you will need to use a video conversion application.

Launch Aura Video Converter. Click the “Add Video” icon and search for the DTS M2TS input file in the file selection window. Select the item and click “Open.” The media will be imported into the program.

Open the “Profile” drop-down menu and select “M2TS Movie (*.m2ts).” Go to the “Audio” section in the encoding settings window. Open the “Audio Codec” drop-down menu and select “AC3.”

Click “Convert” to re-format the media. A confirmation message will appear when the AC3 M2TS output file has been successfully encoded. Click the “Output Folder” button to access the media in its storage location.

Launch iWisoft Free Video Converter. Click the “Add” icon and search for the DTS M2TS input file in the file selection window. Select the item and click “Open.”

Open the “Profile” drop-down menu. Select “HD Video” and click the “HD MPEG2-TS Video (*.ts)” option from the fly-out menu.

Click the “Settings” button and a programming window will load. Go to the “Audio” section and open the “Codec” drop-down menu. Select the “AC-3 Audio” option and click “OK.”

Click “Start” to re-format the media. A confirmation message will appear when the AC3 HD TS output file has been successfully encoded. Click the “Find Target” button to access the media.

Tips & Warnings
Aura Video Converter and iWisoft Free Video Converter are both freeware that are only supported by Windows.
While iWisoft Free Video Converter does not support M2TS as an output format, it supports a high-definition version of TS as an output format.
Since M2TS files are commonly converted into other digital video formats, M2TS is not widely supported as an output format amongst video conversion applications. Although tsMuxeR is an application that can re-format videos as M2TS files, it does not permit you to select different audio codecs. The application produces M2TS output files that have the same audio codec as the input video.
