How to Connect Multiple VMs in VirtualBox
Connecting multiple VirtualBox virtual machines lets you create virtual networks for a variety of purposes. The internal networking option lets you select or create an internal network connecting two or more virtual machines. Even the VirtualBox host computer won't see the traffic on the virtual network. Creating a virtual network with multiple VMs works well in any situation requiring an isolated networking environment for training, testing or security reasons.

1
Run VirtualBox on the host system containing the VMs you want to link. The virtual machines must be off before you add the internal network card. Click the first VM you want to connect in the list of virtual machines on the left side of the window.
-
2
Click the "Settings" button at the top of the window. Click the "Network" tab in the Settings window. Click the tab for Adapter 1, 2, 3 or 4 depending on the number of adapters you plan to configure on the VM.

3
Mark the check box for "Enable Network Adapter." Click the "Attached to:" drop-down menu and select the "Internal Network" option. Enter a name for the network in the box below or select an existing internal network from the drop-down list.

4
Click "OK" to save your changes. Repeat for each VM you want to connect. Each VM must use the same internal network name to communicate with the other VMs.
