How to Make Roses From Seashells
If you're looking for a creative alternative to fresh flower gifts, treat a loved one to a seashell-inspired rose. You can create rose-shaped crafts using a variety of iridescent oyster shells. Use shells that you gathered on your last beach vacation as a budget-friendly option, or buy the shells at a craft store. In addition to making unique gifts, seashell roses make attractive table decor for anniversary dinners, wedding receptions and Valentine's Day soirees.

1
Clean the oyster shells with warm, soapy water to remove any sand or debris. Let the shells air dry.
-
2
Attach the two largest shells together, end-to-end, using a low-temperature hot glue to create the rose's base petals.
-
-
3
Glue the two next-largest oyster shells on top of the base shells at a 45-degree angle to create the second layer of petals. Repeat the process two more times with the third- and fourth-smallest sets of oyster shells to form the rose's inner petals.
-
4
Glue a faux pearl or a small, round seashell in the center of the oyster shell rose to complete the craft project.
