How to Put Layouts on IMVU

Make your IMVU profile stand out with a custom layout.

IMVU profiles all have the same generic look for new users, so if you’ve just set up an account, your default IMVU profile page won’t stand out from the crowd. You can add some color to your profile page and personalize it by replacing the generic IMVU template with a custom layout. You can choose your own background images and colors, and you can rearrange the elements on your profile page. Visitors who browse your profile will see your custom layout instead of the default IMVU template.

Instructions

1. Find a custom layout for IMVU. Layout codes can be obtained from a variety of websites, such as ProfileBrand.com, SnazzySpace.com and MyIMVUAvatar.com.

2. Copy the custom layout code to your system clipboard. Select the entire block of code with your mouse, right-click on it and choose “Copy.” You can also click the “Copy” button if the page you are browsing provides a one-click button to copy the layout code to your clipboard.

3. Navigate to the IMVU website and sign in with your username and password.

4. Click your avatar’s name in the upper left of the IMVU page to edit your profile page.

5. Click the “Edit” menu button at the top right corner of the “About Me” section on your profile page, and then click “Edit Custom HTML/CSS.”

6. Paste the layout code that you want to use into the box. Paste the code at the bottom of the box if you have existing customizations you want to keep.

7. Click the “Save” button below the box. Your new IMVU layout displays immediately.

Tips & Warnings

• Click the “Safe” button at the top-right corner of the page if a layout breaks your page. You can remove the layout code by deleting it from the box after entering safe mode.
