Regular exfoliation leads to healthy, glowing skin.

In a society where image is everything, taking care of your skin through exfoliation is a process that will make you look and feel better. Though it may seem harsh, scrubbing away the top layer of skin from your face and body to remove dirt and dead cells will not only improve your skin tone and texture but also unclog your pores and leave you with a brighter complexion. Make exfoliation a weekly part of your beauty regime, using only a few ingredients from your local supermarket.

  • 2 tbsp honey

Add the oatmeal, powdered milk and honey to the bowl.

    • 2

Mix the ingredients together, using a spoon or your hands, until they form a paste.

    • 3

Gently massage the mixture onto your face using circular motions for two to three minutes. Don't forget to exfoliate the neck and throat area.

Rinse off your face using lukewarm water and pat dry with a clean towel.

    • 5

Apply moisturizer to your face and neck to complete your exfoliation.

    At Home Body Exfoliation

    • 6

Add the brown sugar, strawberries, olive oil and peppermint extract in a bowl.

    • 7

Mix the ingredients until they have formed a paste.

    • 8

Apply by gently massaging the skin, using circular motions. Begin at the feet and work upwards to the legs, torso, chest and arms, paying particular attention to the rough skin on your knees and elbows. Use a long-handled brush or ask a friend to help exfoliate hard to reach places, like your back. Do not leave the mixture on for more than three minutes.

    • 9

Rinse off with lukewarm water and pat yourself dry with a towel. Don't worry if you have left any olive oil on the skin as this residue acts as a natural moisturizer.

    • 10

Apply moisturizer or body oil to complete your exfoliation.
