How to Install Adjustable Camber Arms on an S14
The Silvia S14 is a rear-wheel drive coupe car produced by Nissan. Also referred to as the 200SX and 240SX in North America. It's a popular choice for tuners due to its 2.4 liter engine and aggressive styling. A common modification to the S14 is lowering of the ride height to produce stiffer handling and a sharper look. If you lower the height of the suspension, it will alter the vertical angle of the wheels, causing the tops to lean inward. This angle is also referred to as "camber." A set of adjustable arms above the axle allow camber adjustment.
Things You'll Need

- Axle stands
- Socket set
- Crescent wrenches
- Penetrating oil

1
Jack the car up and place it on the axle stands. For maximum stability and safety, it's a good idea to do this job on one axle at a time, rather than lifting the whole car onto axle stands.
-
2
Use the socket set to remove the wheel nuts, and set them in a safe place. Separate them according to which wheel they came from, so you can be sure you replace the same nuts on the same wheel. With all the nuts removed, lift the wheels off and set them next to each axle, so you can be sure you're replacing them in the correct place.

3
Remove the top bolt connecting the standard camber arm to the suspension bushing. This point is exposed to the elements behind the wheel and can often be heavily corroded. Apply some penetrating oil to the threads and leave it for a few minutes to soak in before removing.
-
4
Release the bolt on the far side of the camber arm and tap it with the mallet to knock it out of the strut lug.
-
5
Replace the original camber arm with the new one and bolt it to the strut and the top of the wishbone, as with the standard one. Tighten the bolts up to the torque specified in the camber arms documentation.
-
6
Replace the wheels, tighten the nuts. Lower the car from the jacks. Jack up the other axle, place it on the stands and repeat the process.
-
7
Take the car to a professional mechanic to have the wheel alignment and tracking reset. The new camber arms will be better than the old ones, but fitting them will have altered the tracking of your wheels, making steering and handling unpredictable and dangerous.
