How to Fix a Broken Baluster in the Stairs
Balusters are the small vertical pieces of wood that fit between the handrail and the bottom rail on a banister. Some balusters are large and ornate, while others are minimal and plain. Most balusters are cylindrical and were made on a lathe. The decorative nature of a baluster works to your advantage when you are repairing one, because the repair is more easily hidden on an ornate surface than on a plain one. Does this Spark an idea?

Tips & Warnings
As an alternative to a drill, you can make the holes using a plunge router and a jig to keep the baluster pieces perfectly vertical.
