Some cellphones require you to initiate an update through the phone's interface. Find “Update Software” or “Check for Updates” in your phone's menu. If an update is available, click “Update” and install it on your phone. Pair your phone with Sync after the update completes.

Pair Sync with your phone a second time if you are unable to establish a connection. Turn your phone's Bluetooth on. Depending on the model of your phone, find the “Settings” menu and select “Bluetooth” to access the feature. Press “Phone” on the Sync console. Touch “Settings,” then tap “Add.” Wait for Sync to find the phone. Touch your phone in the list. Enter the passkey displayed on the Sync screen into your phone.
