How to Use a PSD File in an Android

How to Use a PSD File in an Android thumbnail
You must convert Photoshop PSD files to use them on Android devices.

Android-based smartphones and tablets do not support Photoshop's native PSD file format. In order to save and display Photoshop images on Android devices you need to export them to a file format supported on the Android platform, such as JPEG or PNG. You can convert a PSD to JPEG or PNG using Photoshop's Save As command.

Things You'll Need

  • Adobe Photoshop CS2 or later

Instructions

    • 1

Open the PSD file you want to convert in Photoshop. Click the File menu and choose Save As. This opens the Save As dialog box.

    • 2

Click the Format drop-down menu and choose one of the file formats supported by the Android operating system. Choose either *.PNG or *.JPG, *.JPEG, *.JPE.

    • 3

Click the "Save" button. You can now move the file to your Android smartphone or tablet as you normally would.

Tips & Warnings

  • Since smartphones and tablets have smaller screens than computers, you can save memory space and make the image display faster by reducing the image size. In Photoshop, click the Image menu and choose Image Size. This opens the Image Size dialog box. Type the desired values in the "Width" and "Height" fields and click "OK."
