Instructions

    • 1

Clear away any clutter from one wall. This wall will be the main backdrop for the scene. You can turn the entire party room into an enchanted forest but you will need to clear the clutter away from all walls.

    • 2

Open a large cardboard box. Use a box at least 24 inches square. Pull open any connected sides and lay it flat on the floor. Cut off the side flaps from the cardboard so you have one long piece of cardboard.

    • 3

Use a hole punch to make three holes down each long side of the cardboard. Make the holes at the same spot on the left and right sides. Bend the long sides of the cardboard upward and run a piece of string through the corresponding right and left holes and tie the string in a knot. Flip over the cardboard. You now have a tree trunk-like shape.

    • 4

Lay the four large sheets of green poster board on a flat surface and then arrange them into a four-square shape. Tape the adjacent edges together. Cut a wavy shape around the outer edge to make the tree top shape.

    • 5

Scrunch the green tissue paper, spread glue along the back and press it against the poster board tree top. Repeat to cover the tree top with tissue paper.

    • 6

Tape the bottom of the tree top to the top of the tree trunk. Tape the center along the curve of the trunk. Press the tree against the wall and tape the edges in place.

    • 7

Repeat the previous steps to make as many trees as you like. If you do not have enough cardboard, you can glue together large sheets of poster board and bend these into the trunk shapes.

    • 8

Stick some glow-in-the-dark stars on the ceiling.

    • 9

Hang strands of twinkling white Christmas lights across the ceiling.

    • 10

Arrange vases of flowers around the room and decorate each door frame with ivy vines.

    • 11

Arrange the toadstool-shaped pillows along the bottom of the wall. You can also lay large pillows around the room in colors that coordinate with your color scheme for comfortable seating at the party.

    • 12

Cover each of the party tables with glittery tablecloths and fill sparkly vases with glitter-covered silk flowers. For placemats, use a large tiara stencil to draw the shape on sheets of glittery poster board and cut out the tiara shapes. Put some glue on the back of the imitation gemstones and decorate each tiara place mat with the embellishments.
