How to Make a Facial Hair Stencil
If you're having trouble keeping your facial hair evenly trimmed -- whether it's a mustache, beard or eyebrows -- a stencil will help. It can be difficult to know how much to trim from your facial hair, and sometimes it's disappointing when it comes out uneven. It will be easier to follow the contours of a stencil instead of shaving, waxing or plucking freehand. This freedom from worrying about keeping your facial hair even will allow you to reduce the amount of time it takes for grooming. Does this Spark an idea?

1
Cut a piece of contact paper slightly larger than the area of your face that you want the stencil for. For instance, if you want a mustache stencil, cut a 1-by-5-inch stencil.
-
2
Place the stencil against the area of your face that you want the stencil for. For example, place the stencil against your upper lip. Draw a mustache on the stencil that you would like your mustache to look like or the type of facial hair you want.

Hold the part you cut out against your face, and shave or trim around the stencil. Use the outside part as a template to fill in eyebrows with an eyebrow pencil.

Tips & Warnings
To keep the stencil in place without using your other hand, remove the backing and stick it to your face or facial hair. Make another one when the stickiness comes off the contact paper.
